Smart IoT sensors on bridges.

In  commission of NDW – Nationale Databank Wegverkeersgegevens and RWS ( Rijkswaterstaat),SkyLab B.V. has installed hundreds of special IoT sensors mid-2019 on important bridges to improve traffic flow throughout the Netherlands

The sensors report if the bridge is open or closed, but can also instantly report damage and/or other details. The sensors are developed with new smart sensors and LoRaWAN technologies. SkyLab IoT is already working on a new smaller and even smarter version that can continue to operate for longer or even infinitely.

Special thanks to GIS Specialist for the data connectivity to: “Blauwe Golf Verbindend” platform, the National Road & Traffic Database (NDW) and other traffic information and navigation systems such as Flitsmeister, Waze and many will follow

The data ensures better traffic flow on the road and waterways via these applications. Through improved traffic flow, emergency services can be on-site faster and these innovative sensors /platforms contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions. In conclusion, a great project that we are quite proud of and a good example of the use of new technology in the world of the Internet of Things.

If you are also interested in connecting bridges, level crossings, locks, traffic lights and/or are looking for solutions for emergency exits, height clearance bars, flooding detection, and other specific IoT Sensors or Location systems solutions, we are happy to be of service.
